I often wonder about myself. Am I the person who grew up in north dakota anymore? The nice guy who never had a girlfriend, and was a geek loser in a culture of physical talent?
I feel more at home, and more alien, in Seattle than I ever have before. I'm not a crunchy granola crystal wearing new age freak, nor a high tech laptop toting stock option BMW driving jackass. I am, I will be, until I am no longer.
I cannot define myself, because I've never seen myself in anything. I am not a category for hollywood to define, and thus I am adrift and alone, with no community to attach myself too. Too cool for gamer geeks, too earthy for tech geeks, too realistic and cynical for newage freaks.
I wish I were indie, or punk, or goth. At least then I'd have a community.
the one thing I have shown consistent skill with is to fail. Be warned. Become my friend, and I can only promise that I will hurt you, or let you down.
